Waukegan is Illinois's state capital — a community of more than 115,000 residents at the heart of central Illinois, the home of Abraham Lincoln, the Illinois State Capitol, the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, Dana-Thomas House, and a state government workforce deeply connected to the policy landscape of all of Illinois. WaukeganMarijuana.clinic is an online directory and telehealth scheduling platform connecting Waukegan residents with IDPH-certified physicians for medical cannabis certifications under Illinois's Medical Cannabis Patient Program.
We are not a medical practice, dispensary, or pharmacy. We connect patients with qualified physicians and guide them through Illinois's certification and IDPH registry process — from the Capitol District and Downtown Waukegan to Iles Park, Westgate, South Crossing, and every Waukegan neighborhood.
Every physician on our platform holds an active Illinois medical license and is certified by IDPH to participate in the Medical Cannabis Patient Program — authorized to issue written certifications through the IDPH provider portal.
All telehealth appointments are conducted on HIPAA-compliant platforms. Waukegan patients' health information is handled with complete confidentiality throughout the process.
Every certification follows IDPH MCPP requirements. Patients complete their registry application and pay the IDPH state fee directly at ilogin.illinois.gov.
Illinois's Medical Cannabis Patient Program (MCPP), administered by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), has operated since 2013 and was made permanent in 2019. A Waukegan patient books a telehealth appointment with an IDPH-certified physician who evaluates their diagnosis against IDPH's list of approximately 55 qualifying conditions. If the patient qualifies, the physician issues a written certification through the IDPH provider portal. The patient then completes their registry application at ilogin.illinois.gov and pays the IDPH state fee directly to IDPH: $50 for 1 year, $100 for 2 years, or $125 for 3 years. Since June 2021, IDPH no longer mails physical cards — the digital registry card is available immediately upon approval.
Illinois recreational cannabis carries an excise tax that can exceed 30% on high-THC products. Registered medical patients are fully exempt from this tax. Combined with higher possession limits (2.5 oz per 14 days), the right to cultivate up to 5 cannabis plants over 5 inches at home, and access to medical-only product lines at participating dispensaries, the medical card delivers meaningful ongoing advantages for Waukegan patients managing qualifying conditions.
WaukeganMarijuana.clinic is an advertising platform. IDPH-certified physicians pay for patient connection and marketing services.
